Title: infrared emitter detector
Post by: Trumpkin on November 03, 2007, 11:31:32 AM
Can anybody post more detailed instructions on how to build the infrared emitter detector found here? http://www.societyofrobots.com/schematics_infraredemitdet.shtml   ???

what microcontroller are you using?  If you are using a Parallax Basic Stamp, for example, you don't need any additional hardware... just a microcontroller, an IR LED, an IR Detector, and a resistor! The trick is to ues the microcontroller to create the modulated frequency for the IR LED.

I am using the 50$ robot microcontroller, what I really need is a list of parts. I also get a little confused with schematics, does anybody have pics of the back of the board that shows the wiring? Thanks

Try laying it out exactly how you see it on a breadboard.

The schematic is exactly the same as for the photoresistor.

The only difference is that you add an additional LED and current limiting resistor.
