why are you abusing the sample system by asking for parts you don't know what are?

Only get what you need, and give the companies that give you the free samples lots of free advertising in your robot documentation.

This way you get free parts, and the company gets its money's worth.

Cooldog, you've got to understand free samples is a system that doesn't tolerate much abuse, if too many people know about it, and even worse, if people start ordering stuf as much as they can, even when they don't even know what it is, it's not going to last long... The companies will notice and shut down the free samples, or make it less accesible for hobbyists. (phonecalls, proof you're part of a company, etc.)

There have already been a few companies that did this...
That's why I didn't like your action.

I get called up by ramtron before they would send me any samples. I have to outline a project for them on the telephone, and explain which individual systems will be using their products. Also any competetive companies that you are testing. What stage the project is at. How many units I would be likely to purchase within the next 5years etc...
Soon all companies will be doing it. and its not easy to come up with those type of answers immediately when asked.
