Title: Ponyprong trouble
Post by: ddemarco5 on December 29, 2007, 09:12:42 AM
Because I am new to robotics, I was given a programmable robot kit (http://www.robotstore.com/store/product.asp?pid=731&catid=1554)

and with this kit I was given a CD that had sample codes and a program called ponyprong, a serial device programmer and winAVR. The problem is, after I hooked the owl up to my computer and configured ponyprong to the specific motherboard, it cannot recognize the device and it cannot download the sample programs into the bot.

Anyone know how to fix this?

Are you sure you have the programmmer cable connected to the right port? In pony prog click on "set up" and then "interface setup" and then and check what radio buttons are pressed. And then, look to see what rs232 or usb port you are using by going to start-> system properties-> hardware-> device manager.  Also, check to make sure you battery is fullly charged.

Yes, the programming cable is set to the parallel port Avr ISP I/0 LPT 1.

When I probe it says it is succesful.
