I want something like this , except with electrical pump. Does anyone sell anything like this.
Any electric pump gun that has automatic firing , AND only shoots soft stuff , like foam or ping pong balls

I'm surprised you havent seen this - http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/usb-missile-launcher/index.html (http://www.iwantoneofthose.com/usb-missile-launcher/index.html)
These have pan/tilt turrets built in!
-
oolala
yeah i saw those
I might add those on my butler robot
actually its for another robot im building , it turns to face you and I wanted something non-USB to shoot( and something cheaper)
-
yea ive got one of those..do most have cameras on them? because my friends doesnt...

-
none have cameras so i have no idea how you have one on yours
but really stay on topic,
how can I shoot ping pong balls at people?
-
isn't one of the members doing a turtorial about this
-
i dont see it by the member's tutorials
But how can I launch something , but actuating it electrically?
-
a tank full of air (either co2 artridge or air compressor) and a sylenoid to open and close it quicly for a burst of air
-
well any idea where I can get a cheap solenoid valve ( i've searched before for my butler bot, but found only super expensive ones) ;)
-
electronic sprinkler/irrigation valve
this should work. IDK up to what pressure it can survive

actually i found a valve from an old dishwasher
time to see if it works
-
I know it is somewhat late but I had made a ping pong ball launcher for my robot a while back. It might be what you're looking for or it could spark some ideas.

It works like those baseball pitching machines(just two disks spinning really fast). It may also seem like ping pong balls wouldn't hurt but they hit hard at point blank.

owch! and also if you make one airman i want to see it!! also cool launcher but wouldnt the vibrations like kill the robot ;D
-
yeah it does vibrate quite a bit at higher speeds, but you can minimize the vibrations by going at a slower speed(the balls still shot out at about the same speed). The vibrations can probably also be minimized by using a rubber grommet on the mounting holes. Like this one http://minorrubber.thomasnet.com/viewitems/rubber-grommets-vibration-mount-grommets/vibration-mount-grommets?&forward=1 (http://minorrubber.thomasnet.com/viewitems/rubber-grommets-vibration-mount-grommets/vibration-mount-grommets?&forward=1)

very cool launcher
i found something similar in kit form

ohhhhh that one looks nice too. If you get it let me know how it goes. I kinda want something with less power than what I have. I only want the balls to be shot a short distance. It looks like it has rubber grommets on the actual motors to reduce vibration too....
-
now just to find some spare cash, lol :D
-
FIRST has a competetion like this( I think two years back) they shot balls into a goal via a remote controlled bot, generally there designs were high speed wheels( one took two dewalt drills and ripped off the handle, attached wheels on the end and spun them at full speed) that dug into the ball and shot it through a barrel
-
how about a old hot wheels track
they have two wheels that spin really fast to push the cars through the track
-
yea i have two of those and was thinking of modding them...ill mess my old one up now.
