i have a powerful hoover motor and i was wondering could i use it in an rc robot also how dow i make both wheels operate from 1 motor because i dont want diff drive.

easy answer. you cant. you would need atleast two if you want to actually steer your car..look up "steering for rc cars" and you should see some answers....or check out admins tutorials.

i would use a servo to move the front wheels giving me steering

yes so basicly you'll probibly need something with gearsill try to upload a pic of mine first one is of d.c motor with gear attached.
second is of the teeth that it hooks to with the turning mech.

add gears to waht the vaccum cleaner motor (( is that what you mean by hoover motor??)
also , it would probably be worth it to ditch the motor you have now and get servo motors to be the drive system and make a R/C robot from scratch.

yeap, you can.
look for something called an ESC, or electronic speed controller. its all over this forum and google.

sorry for this but didnt want to start new topic. are treadmill motors strong? as in torque wise? because theres a broken treadmill at the tipp that i saw...
