Title: Mod servos without microcontroller
Post by: Bubbles on January 21, 2008, 08:20:46 PM
when modifying the servo the tutorial says to use a .hex file to center the servo, however i was wondering if i could just hook it up to a receiver and use the transmitter joysticks to center it instead.

thanks in advance  :D

that'll work. just make sure the trim is set to zero also

I did that and I had to modify them again after I got my microcontroller working. I had the trim settings set to zero. ???

your servos were running at a different voltage in your circuit and off the reciever

I use the same battery for the reciever and the microcontroller.

well either the pulse wasn't the same OR the servos were getting different voltages each time even though the batteries were the same

why would the amount of power they were getting affect whether or not they would go back to zero?

well the servo has circuitry inside it , so different power means the circuitry works slightly  differently
