i found this battery pack http://www.trossenrobotics.com/store/p/4300-6V-2-6Ah-NiMH-AA-Pack.aspx for 2.6Ah i think that's pretty cheap. maybe good for a small humanoid or something that uses a lot of servos.

It has a good discharge rate... 5A is good for 10 servos with med torgue... But handle with caution... You don;t want el chipo fireworks in your room!!!

in FIRST I accidently shorted the 12 volt, 12 amp battery, it made a bright blue arc and melted a small portion of the battery tab...

Put short circuit protection on your batteries
shudda seen what happened when chives short circuited in the beginning stages, two 12V 20 ah batteries shorting

when anything greater then 12 volts is involved, NEVER short cicuit it.
