Title: Capacitice sensor help
Post by: Asellith on February 20, 2008, 04:44:19 PM
Anyone have experiance with capacitive touch sensors? I am looking into a project with them and wanted to see if anyone know what to expect when using one. I have read some stuff but nothing giving me an example of how much the capacitance changes and how to design for environmential changes. I basically only want to detect if someone is touching the unit nothing to crazy. Basically it will go in an earphone to detect if the earphone is inserted or not. I also want to try and keep the amount of wires coming down from the earphones to a minimum. Also if you have a good example of a sensor that is good let me know. I saw one on sparkfun but it looks a little complicated for what I want.

I recently used capacitive sensorbuttons from mTouch Microchip technology. I wrote about it in this post
