Title: Rectifier circuit
Post by: gamefreak on February 20, 2008, 06:17:32 PM
Alright looking through the curios inventor website I found this schematic. Is it just me, or is the rectifier in there backwards?

ok? The text and pictures also seem to support what I said, the rectifier in the picture is facing the wrong direction, negative is positive...

it certainly appears backwards

That is, indeed, a backwards rectifier. It also appears to be fed by a dc voltage supply, which raises the question of what exactly it is rectifying. Say hello to a little fellow I like to call Exploding Capacitor.

the schematic is for reverse polarity portection, and AC voltage, the actual thing its from has one of the plugs for wall warts on it
