Title: Want to make a digital servo driver

Just as a gollygeewhiz project, I want to make a digital version of this http://www.lynxmotion.com/Product.aspx?productID=466&CategoryID=52 (http://www.lynxmotion.com/Product.aspx?productID=466&CategoryID=52).  Obviously, I would want a LCD, micro controller, potentiometer, and switch, but I'm not quite sure where to go from there.  Any ideas?

Use the $50 Robot, and just add a pot instead of a photoresistor as the sensor.
