use google

http://www.google.com/search?hl=en&client=firefox-a&rls=org.mozilla%3Aen-US%3Aofficial&hs=ZHN&q=how+a+touch+screen+works&btnG=Search

and as for the second question , also search google or get a X10 system

search google for "Home Automation"

We'll help you out on the questions that can't be answered by a quick google search.

Welcome to the Forum!

,Eric

I like the X10 system for home automation. There are much better systems out there, but the X10 is simple, cheap, and you can get it at any Radio Shack when you need new/ more.
