Title: Modyfiying this servo Hitec HS-645MG
Post by: boyardee12 on March 08, 2008, 10:33:42 PM
Has anyone modified this servo for continous rotation?
Does this servo follow the directions  on the guides that is on here for hacking servos and other sites? O
On servocity the rated it a 7 in terms of difficulty where 10 is the hardest... Do you think a beginner like me can do it...?

I haven't done that servo, but I think you can do it.

Since its MG, that means it has a metal pin in the big gear that you need to take out. Its press fit in really tight, so its kinda hard to pull out.

If you put the gear in a vice, and get a small needle and hammer, you could hit it out. Or use pliers and struggle till it comes out :P

If you still aren't sure, just take some pics and post them. I can help you.

hey i have a HS-645MG and opened it up just for the heck of it.  However, like Admin said, its a pain the butt to get out, so i put it back to gather before i messed something up.  My advise, for the price you pay for one you can just go buy a geared down dc motor for continous rototion.
