Title: Pic32 start kit good price?
Post by: Asellith on April 09, 2008, 08:15:07 AM
Found a pic32 starter kit for $50 is this a good price? It looks like it is just an experiment board and however can't be used as a programmer as well.

Its about the same price as buying them straight from microchipdirect.com I would say its a cheap price for a development board with the features eg. an extra 32k external sram. The only thing is to make sure that there are some header pins on the board so you can use the outputs for something useful(you cant see in the picture)
I was going to warn about them all being surface mount packages so expect diffiulty utilising them in the future, but there are some pre populated breakout boards at microcip direct
