Here is a Robot I made called BubbleBoy. :D
Runs off of an Arduino, and has 2 draganfly mini servos. :)

Let me know what you think of it!

Great job! Excellent pallet of music!
-
keep it up...
just wish i had adruino when i got started into robotics , it really would have made my life easy , but no worries
by the way what is that liquid oozing out of buuble boy in the end???
-
nice, does it just wabble back and forth ;)? What program did you to edit the video?
bane

Thanks Steve!
Thanks super :D I actually got started into robotics with Lego. :) That stuff at the end is hot glue.
Thanks Bane! Yeah, it just wobbles back and forth. But it's pretty spiffy. I used iMovie '08 for the first video in my post, and old iMovie HD for the second. :)

Robotgrrl,
going over your website a bit I noticed something. We are missing tutorials on how to build more artistic style robots. Most of us just build little guys that run around. But like your BubbleBoy we miss the artistic side of things. For instance the the yellow drum machine done by another member of our forum here

This is cool and artistic in design. We tend to try and make everything navigate better or interact with humans better. I'm not very artistic but if I get a unique inspiration for something I might run with it. Keep up the good work
-
so did you break it int he end that hot glue started coming out......
Adruino or lego both are very good for beginners, adruino will provide you some kinda challenge in electronics but lego completely takes that away
AND IT IS VERY NICE TO SEE AN ACTIVE GIRL MEMBER IN THE FORUM, u may be the 1st one ... keep it up...
-
What's with the capital letters?
And she's not the first girl here.
Welcome though :)
-
corrections...
i didnt say girl only....
i said "Active girl member" so far she is the only active girl member i have seen
-
Vidam (Melanie) is also active... and yes, Melanie is a girl name.
-
oh thought vidam is a boy's name
-
Thanks a bunch guys!
I will try to make a tutorial on how to make an artistic robot. It's just natural to me, so I will have to think about it. :)
What else can I say... Girl POWERRR! :P :P :P
-
while we are on the subject I might mention that when I first say your name superchiku I read it really fast and thought it said superchick so I assumed for your first several posts you where a girl :)

LOL LOL LOL
that's funny because i thought that too
antill i read ur profile...
As for the robot,
EXELENT
I love the look of it

Yes, i think if it interacted with humans better, would be the next challenge
BubbleBoy v2

well most ppl also have that misconception when they first see my name "superchiku" <> "superchik"
oh yeah robotgrrl do write a tutorial abt artistic robots and well make sure that we add extra functionalities to it..
-
ya like make it dance to the music and not just move randomly
-
or when you pick it up, it says something to you "Hey, how ya going mate" would be a lovely Australian suggestion
Ozzy Ozzy Ozzy oi oi oi
-
well most ppl also have that misconception when they first see my name "superchiku" <> "superchik"
I had to think of that pokemon pikachu :P
Man that stuff was retarded...

Man that stuff was retarded...
HOW THE F*** CAN YOU SAY SOMETHING LIKE THAT !!!! :o
I watch it all the time ::)
(plz note that I DO NOT watch pokemon all the time...only occasionally)
(plz note that I DO NOT watch pokemon!)
:D
-
(plz note that I DO NOT watch pokemon!)
Thanks for saying that. I was getting worried. :D
-
is it bad to watch pokemon :o
-
Better than watching Stargate and wanting to build replicators...
-
I want to build a home theater with an entrance that is the star gate :) oh and have and iris that closes when the movie starts ;D
-
Do you happen to have a decent picture of a replicator insect?
-
woo what is a replicator....?
-
i think if it interacted with humans better, would be the next challenge
BubbleBoy v2
I'm going to be trying to interface it with my Human-Machine conversation program I made :)
Thanks!
Oh yeah, and it doesn't move randomly - it's a program.
PS: I like Pokemon

Thanks!
Hmm, that sounds intresting. Plz post a video or something when it's finished
PS: I like Pokemon
Who doesn't ;D

Robotgrrl, how about bubble feet to get it to dance?
And pikachu is amazing!
I use a pic of him as my cell phone wall paper, and named many of my robots after him :D
Oh, and the user Aubrey makes artistic robots, too. She always tells me (offline) that visible wires make robots look ugly, but I kinda think it makes them look cool . . .
