Title: How to successfully trick someone that a chatbot is a person...
Post by: Fredrik Andersson on April 19, 2008, 02:25:34 PM
This made me laugh really much. Yeah, there is a simple trick you can use to make a guy believe a chatbot is real. Be sure to read some of the chatlogs. They are so hilarious!

I remember making chat bots in VB when I was ~13-ish years old. They were fun. I'm sure they are waaaay more advanced today, but chat rooms aren't popular anymore . . .

If anyone's interested in making a chatbot, www.personalityforge.com is pretty good.

I'm actually going to build a robot with chat functions, kind of like Le Trungs android, but not an android. A small robot that is cool looking and easy to bring with you, so you can have it with you all the time in when you are around people. In a way, making people more aware of the robot technology. Plus i would feel pretty cool walking around with a robot as my company :D

Heh, I've always wanted like a small robot-ish thing to mount on my shoulder and it starts talking to people with a classical syntesized robot voice :P Not stuff like that irc-bot though :D
