Title: Hitec or Futaba Servo Preference?
Post by: Spoil9 on April 20, 2008, 08:05:55 AM
I am looking at different websites (although will most likely order from Servo City) and I am wondering what everyone's preference is between Hitec and Futaba servos are.
Is one better than the other or is this like Best Buy and Circuit City where each are equal, it just depends on what deals are going on?
Thanks for your opinions.

I guess the answer doesn't really matter anymore. I just bought Hitec 422CR servos, and their pan/tilt kit from Lynxmotion's website.
Also bought the wheel adapters to connect servos to RC car tires from servo city.
Slowly on my way to building that killer robot that'll take over my house.
Next, just have to finally settle on a MCU choice.

Hitec has a greater variety and the prices are cheaper.
(but I'm still smarting from the last 5 hitec servos that broke/fried on me recently)

My robot fish uses Futaba because they have a servo with better dimensions/torque for my particular app.

Its really a question of what requirements you have.
