set PIO4 high for 2 seconds upon power up is required to reset to factory defaults

what are you using the bluesmirf for?

yeah i tried setting PIO4 high with 3.3v but it is soldered to ground, so it didnt work.

I read the manual and tried the things they mentioned,, including an rs232 cable from pc to bluesmirf

i'm using it for UART, and working on doing my wireless programming using the watchdog timer for a reset.

I had the wrong pin

if you look on the back of the bluesmirf, PIO4 is on the side with more pcb traces, 3rd one away from the blue antenna.

even though its grounded, you hold 3.3v to it and then power it up. then you just have to toggle it three times by tapping the voltage to that pin. you have as much time as you want to toggle it.

this will do a factory reset of the bluesmirf.
