Title: Making Augmented microcontrollers?
Post by: alovon on June 02, 2008, 06:21:17 PM
Im kinda low on cash and i heard that microcontrolers can be built cheaper than bought so, I've been wondering if anyone knows where some good microcontrollers can be bought cheap or plans for one. ::)

I think you are a bit confused... there are many microcontrollers that are just a dollar or two... you can get a complete microcontroller and software development environment from PICAXE for just three dollars.

No augmented ones with ports for all kinds of perepherials. not the microcontroller chip itself. my bad on being so blunt.

Do you mean a soldered vs unsoldered dev kit?  I've seen kits that are 1/3 the price of the soldered kit because you have to solder it yourself.

The $50 Robot *is* a tutorial to augment a microcontroller ;D
