Title: Wireless Touchscreen Wall Fob for Roberto-The All In One Robot™
Post by: Roberto on July 04, 2008, 08:01:02 PM
Hello,

I am working on an add on for my robot Roberto-The All In One Robot™. I am buying this touchscreen http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5-7-TFT-LCD-320-x-240-QVGA-Hitachi-Screen-SX14Q004_W0QQitemZ160256343616QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item160256343616&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/5-7-TFT-LCD-320-x-240-QVGA-Hitachi-Screen-SX14Q004_W0QQitemZ160256343616QQcmdZViewItem?hash=item160256343616&_trkparms=72%3A12%7C39%3A1%7C65%3A12&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14)
and programing a wireless wall fob. I got this idea from a light switch thing. (Pic at bottom) And instead of the 4 buttons just use a touchscreen. It will send bluetooth signals to the robot and whatever command I touch on the screen, it will do. For example, I go to the wireless wall fob, and press scan area. Then it brings me to another menu. It says: are you sure?. I press yes. It asks for an authorization code, (default is 1234), and  then, if the code is right, it says command accepted. It then stays on that screen for 4 seconds, and goes back to the home menu. I can program the touchscreen to do the commands, but I don't know if I can establish a bluetooth connection without using a computer. If you can help, it would be appreciated.

Thank you for your time,

Roberto

EDIT: I threw in a layout picture of my robot. I couldn't help it.

what you are trying to do is very difficult

what is your level of expertise in robotics and electronics?

then we can target the replies to your level

Electronics and Robotics about Intermediate. This is my 3rd robot, and hope I will be able to use it to get into an advanced robotics class at my school! Please help if possible.
