Title: cheep shipping on female headers or located in New Zealand
Post by: ratcateme on July 11, 2008, 06:51:12 PM
I am trying to build my first robot i am looking for some female headers but the only ones i can find have a lip on them so i need a gap between each row of headers but my circuit is already made with no gaps.  can anyone tell me where to find female headers in New Zealand.  or a place that will ship them without huge costs i have already bought parts from digikey and i don't want to pay shipping for female headers again.

Thanks Scott.

Probably your best bet is some cheap ones from Ebay.  Or, you can do what I have been doing which is maintain a shopping list.  Its disturbing how fast I can put together an order that's worth paying shipping for.  Another alternative could be to salvage some female headers from old electronics.  Careful not to melt the plastic part too much...and stay away from salvaging things with CRTs.  Safety issue.  There's lots of posts here regarding salvaging parts.
