Title: Motor Sizes
Post by: krich on July 19, 2008, 08:06:25 PM
I need some motor experience here.  When a website is talking about a "380 type" or "380 size" brushed DC motor, are they talking about a motor that is roughly the same size as, say, a Mabuchi RS-380 motor?  Likewise with a "130 type" and a Mabuchi FA-130 motor?

I can't tell if this is simply coincidence or hobby jargon.

I know that the first two numbers of a Mabuchi motor designate the armature diameter and the magnet length, both which roughly determine overall motor physical size.

Thanks.
