Title: Help, its a robot :O!
Post by: Drasq on August 18, 2008, 01:32:13 PM
Goodevening everyone here on Robot Forum,

I'm very new to Robots or anything alike. I study Electronics, and going to 6th grade now.
As we need to make a project about whatever we like, as long it has enough burden.

So I was thinking of building my own robot after searching the internet and bumped to a robot race, and thought it is something I always wanted, and here is the oportunity.

As I said, I know some components, wich we learned, mostly basics though.

But I was thinking of building a robot car myself with the sensors like the whole site says, like it reacts on light and it will turn by itself.
Although I would like another mode if that would be possible to control it yourself.

I bet there are alot of people with experience with that. Is there any volunteer who wants to be my personal guide making this project work and making my first robot :)
this project will start the first of September and will end in May.

You're always welcome to post your ideas, like if there is something you think I could be capable off with the needed info and might be a good idea.

everything is welcome

Kind regards,

Drasq

Do you think it had enough burden to start it?

so make the one that rides and reacts on light?

If you are in 6th grade, and you solder/assemble/program an autonomous vehicle, I'd say that is pretty impressive even with instructions.

It is impressive.  When I was in sixth grade, I made a "robot" out of a coffee can with Christmas lights for eyes.

And if you don't want to feel like you are just copying everything, make a unique chassis.
