Title: Axon wire harness
Post by: Razor Concepts on September 23, 2008, 04:11:36 PM
I just got my Axon an hour ago and it works great  ;D  Just wondering if anyone had problems with the included Hitec wire harness. I noticed that it didnt want to plug into the Axon (takes a LOT of force), and also my battery with standard plugs couldnt fit in. I swapped that harness out with a Spektrum/JR harness I already had, and everything fit perfectly. Did anyone else have wire harness issues?

Yeah, I had to cut the male connector and solder 2 male pins so I can plug them in my battery's molex connector. Other than that, I didn't had problems inserting the female connectors in the Axon's board. Test it OK, now I'm waiting to have some time to play with it. I've built a serial interface for my LCD, so I will get it running soon.

I find that some of my servo connectors have to be forced in as well, and others fit just fine.

It's manufacturing tolerance issues with both the Axon pin spacing and the connector manufacturing. The Axon headers use english units, and the hitec connectors are in metric, so possibly also a rounding error . . .

If you squeeze the header pins together a little bit, it should fit better.
