Hi,
I want to use a M-LSP-1 speaker. It is 100 Ohm 6V. On the site I ordered it(voti.nl) it said that if you want to connect directly to a PIC, you should connect an antiparallel diode with it. What does this mean? It sounds like I have to connect the speaker between the O-pin of the PIC and the mass, get a diode parallel to it and reverse its polarity. Am I right?
Thanks

yeah, the diode arrow should be towards the pin.
since the speaker is an inductor, when it will be turned off, it will create a big potential difference with respect to ground at the pin, and it may damage it. the diode forces the current through the speaker again.

Thanks a lot ;)
Didn't think about the speaker being an inductor.
