Title: how do i solder this camera?
Post by: BuddingContraptionist on October 21, 2008, 08:39:27 PM
I found this camera for $10 (http://www.sparkfun.com/commerce/product_info.php?products_id=8668), and I notice that it isn't mounted on anything.  How would I wire that up?  They have other ones that are mounted on small breakout boards which look to contain a fair amount of circuitry.  Is this camera something i could connect power and i/o to and use out of the box?  Or is there more to it than that...

I'm really just amazed at the price

You'd have to put together some sort of image processing board i believe.

That is an interesting camera because of the built-in JPEG, but to use it, you need a processor with an 8-bit parallel interface that runs at 20MHz, in addition to I2C for camera configuration.
