Title: head/neck robot system

hi everybody,

i'm new in this forum and i think it's a good place to get help,

in my final study project my first task was to design a head/neck system for a robot similar to men system,

 ??? ???

so do you have any idea where to begin or any document that could help me

If it should be really "similar" - it makes sense to begin studiyng anatomy of human beings =)
Another good start is google on "anmatronic head" - lots of stuff...
How hard it is depends on your actual task. If you need mimics(doh.. donno the word.. facial expressions) - is goddamn hard. If you need only moving eyes opening mouth - pretty easy..

i have already taken the similarity,

it will be 6 dof head (2 for each eyes and 2 for the neck)

my problem is exactly how to make the mechanism that will move the eyes (2 tiny brushless motors with a gearbox) and the system that will mimic the neck

i want to choose the system, design it under a cad software, do necesserely calculation and choose the right motors reductors, encoders,

and finally i will design it with aluminuim materials

any help will be welcome

thanx everybody for the fast response,

the system of the eye on the animatronics site seems to be good to me

but any idea about how to fix a tiny brushless motor with a reduction system to that system
