Title: small h bridge IC?
Post by: szhang on November 21, 2008, 11:47:32 PM
I recently decided to use a different RC car as a base for my robot, and this one has its own steering servomotor.  There I need an h-bridge for driving a small (stall torque <1/2A) motor at about 5-6V (because the servomotor does not contain the control circuitry).

I've been doing my tests using two mosfet drivers in a full bridge configuration, but they are kind of big.  And so are the other H-bridges I am familiar with like the LM298/LM293.  Does anyone know of a smaller, preferably DIP package h bridge that can handle about 1A?  Ideally I would like an 8-pin chip.

That is just a improved version of the L293, still a bit big...

Maybe I'll just get a dual mosfet driver...
