Title: Which robot arm is this
Post by: airman00 on December 02, 2008, 12:23:12 PM: Anyone know if the robot arm this guy used is homemade or bought? And if its bought , whats the robot arm called?

ehh not really , can only handle 100 grams ( around .2 pounds)

So we can "hack" this robot arm by switching out all the motors with high powered ones, then change the plastic casing of it to metal brackets, and then hack the controller to support the high powered motors. LOL seems like we just made our own robot arm by ourselves.

its base fee is cheaper at that site. Havnt looked into anyones shipping though.

But yes airman that would be building your own arm lol. It always helps to have a 3D robotic arm schematic though :P

Post by: HDL_CinC_Dragon on December 03, 2008, 02:46:34 PM: If your lucky enough to get to a metal shop, you can just use the same design but use aluminum and get either high powered servos or gear motors with encoders. If I had to resources I would totally do it... except I would do it at 25x scale :P
