Anyone know if the robot arm this guy used is homemade or bought? And if its bought , whats the robot arm called?

I saw that at "Creative Kidstuff" they don't have it on their website though http://creativekidstuff-px.rtrk.com/. My Mom and little sister were shopping there NOT me (I was being dragged along). :D

ehh not really , can only handle 100 grams ( around .2 pounds)

So we can "hack" this robot arm by switching out all the motors with high powered ones, then change the plastic casing of it to metal brackets, and then hack the controller to support the high powered motors. LOL seems like we just made our own robot arm by ourselves.

But yes airman that would be building your own arm lol. It always helps to have a 3D robotic arm schematic though :P

I think I'd build one like it... but it would definately have to lift for isn't worth the time for 200 grams of lift

If your lucky enough to get to a metal shop, you can just use the same design but use aluminum and get either high powered servos or gear motors with encoders. If I had to resources I would totally do it... except I would do it at 25x scale :P

A friend of mine had a similar arm like that oh... ten years ago :D. I found it fascinating then, too.
