Title: EZ-CD a quick robot using the $50 board
Post by: Webbot on January 05, 2009, 07:41:30 PM
I  built a quick robot based on the $50 Robot board - so made a tutorial out of it. http://www.societyofrobots.com/member_tutorials/node/253 (http://www.societyofrobots.com/member_tutorials/node/253)

Its called 'EZ-CD' as the base was made by just tracing around an old CD.

I've also added some software listings, hex downloads, and videos. Some of the video and some of the photos are a bit fuzzy - sorry.

This video http://www.societyofrobots.com/member_tutorials/node/280 (http://www.societyofrobots.com/member_tutorials/node/280) shows how a simple sonar mounted on a servo gives a good result. At one stage it gets out of a fairly tight spot.

Ok - tracked them down. Got them from here:

The entire CMU robotics club uses those wheels, they are really nice.

As for velcro use, I *strongly* encourage it for really small robots like this one. For larger robots, only use it for batteries.

I'll link this to the $50 Robot mechanical page now as an alternative construction method.
