Title: Another soldering question...

I have solder that has a diameter of 0.050 is this to thick for soldering the 50$ dollar robot? What diameter of solder do I need. Also, my soldering iron can either be set at 15W or 30W And I don't know if 30 is too hot for lead solder and my components but 15W seems too little. Any advice?

30w is perfect, and your solder is fine too. Don't worry about your components, they can handle more heat than you can imagaine (as long as you dont solder with the microcontroller in the socket). Just don't stick your iron on the parts for 20 seconds.

well mine is 25 (volt of watt i forget) and it melts 22 gauge perfectly, 22 gauge is the avarage and it will probably work on most soldering irons =D

that would be Watts Joe :)
I use a 40W weller and my preferred solder is .032" diameter 60/40 rosin core for pretty much everything I solder :)
