Title: What complete robots are available to buy to program? RB5X?

I am an experienced programmer but I am no engineer.  I would like to keep the hardware work to a minimum as I would like to work on software for a household robot as a hobby.  The intent is for the software to run on a PC and interface with both the robot and the house in real time.  So far as limited as it is, the RB5X seems to be the only candidate to start to build out from.  Can anyone suggest alternatives that don't involve electrical engineering?

At the low end, the Pololu 3Pi- http://www.pololu.com/catalog/product/975 -  is a good entry level programmable robot.  In the middle -  the Surveyor SRV1 - http://www.inertialabs.com/srv1.htm - is worth considering (I designed this robot).  There are many choices in between, so perhaps you can describe your requirements.

Thank you for the reply!  The Inertia Labs machine does look interesting for a first try to get my feet wet at robotics.  At this point I guess that I just don't even know what I don't know!  I'll have to look into this a lot more.
