Title: Which programmer
Post by: ed1380 on February 16, 2009, 09:57:06 AM
i left to pursue my mechanical calling. even got me a dirtbike engine for a go-kart, but my dad came in with the youll kill yourself thing. (i probably would)
So now im back to the electronics scene. ATM its still safer cause im working with 12v max  ::)

Since my avrisp is fried. I need another programmer. I found this on ebay, but methinks its a knockoff

will it work just as good, and do they normally come with overvoltage protection?

Thanks

I would just spend the extra $5 to get the legit one on mouser or digikey.

not entirely sure what you are asking . . . install a voltage regulator? This thing should only be plugged into USB and your AVR, meaning that never should more than 5V go to it . . .
