Title: Bluetooth systems --> "XBee base and modules" vs "BlueSMiRF modules"
Post by: Pototo on March 06, 2009, 08:14:08 PM
Hello,

I am trying to get some bluetooth module in order to interface my computer with my robot.

I have found in Sparkfun the XBee bluetooths and the BlueSMiRF bluetooths.

Which one is recommended for this project

it seems like if I get the BlueSMiRF, then I can get a usb dongle and then connected it to my computer. But it seems that with the XBee I need two XBee base and remote modules and an usb cable to connect one module to my computer.

What do you guys recommend?????

Or if you some a better idea or some other devices please let tell me as well.

thank you.

Depends entirely on your application, your hardware, and your requirements, none of which you mention :P

My suggestion is to start reading datasheets, learn what they talk about, and finally decide what you think fits you better. I chose bluetooth for my ERP . . .

ps - XBee isn't Bluetooth ;D
