Title: dc motors with controllers or servos?

what would you say is better for a noob to use for price and ease of use? as im only 10 i dont exactly earn a lot of money and am going to have a shot at the $50 robot soon. should i get motor controllers and dc motors or servos?

i would say servos would be better if this is your first robot because you wouldn't need to wire up anything as servos are plug in and play. and for most robotic application a gearbox will be needed too. with servos these come built in. but it is still up to you whether you want servos or dc motors.
