I bought an IR Sharp Rangefinder (SHARP 2D I 20X F 74, to be excact :P), thoug it didn't come with a whire...
Finding/making a new whire is no problem, however I have no idea where GND / signal is.
(Power is in the middle, ofc) ([edit] power isn't in the middle! LOL! :P)
Soooo...
Conclution:
Seen from the back with the connector facing downwards, ports are:
Port 1 (left) output (or info/data/reading/signal.... geesh, there are many names for this one :-X)
Port 2 (middle) GND
Port 3 (right) Power
thx for help :)

i think it is if you are facing the sersors "eyes" and the connector is on top signal is on the right, not sure tho. look at how admins are in the tutorials. or look up the datasheet if it has one.

On mine, ground is in the middle...
-
yea thats what i saw in all of admins tutorial, but then how do you wire them up? would you have to make a shield or something or just change the connection down the bottom?
-
Mine is (looking at the circuit board, "eyes" away from my face) pulse, ground, power. I think that is how all of them are.
-
Yeah when you wire it up you just switch around the wires at the bottom, no problem.

Hi,
The "I" in "SHARP 2D I 20X F 74" should be a "1" I am sure.
Datasheet (Pinout at page 4).
http://www.acroname.com/robotics/parts/GP2D120_SS.pdf (http://www.acroname.com/robotics/parts/GP2D120_SS.pdf)
Sharp GP2D12, GP2D15, GP2D120 and GP2Y0A02YK0F all have the same pinout.
Pin 1 Output
Pin 2 Gnd
Pin 3 Supply
On GP2A20 and GP2A22 (with detection distance of up to 15 mm(!) however, the pinout is:
Pin 1 Supply
Pin 2 Output
Pin 3 Gnd
