Title: Can't connect to BlueSMiRF

I am on ubuntu, I pull up the bluetooth menu, I can find it, but when I go to pair, it fails. Any idea?

--I connected to it with my phone, but the information on it says it is disconnected. Is the TX pin messed up?

I hooked it up to my windows XP machine, the bluetooth said it connected, but I couldn't send any commands, the light was still red. Please, I would like this to work asap.
