Has anyone had any luck in using the RobotRealm software to control servos with the AXON?
I was looking at this article http://www.roborealm.com/help/SOR_Axon.php (http://www.roborealm.com/help/SOR_Axon.php)
First of all I couldn't program the Axon with the .hex file provided. When using their .bat file I kept getting an error that said
"connection (one wire)", or something along those lines. I tried it a few times and it eventually decided to work
So I finally got the software loaded up but when I open the RobotRealm file labelled SOR_Axon, RobotRealm just crashes...
Any ideas?
thanks guys
Andrew.

Hmmmm what OS are you using?
First of all I couldn't program the Axon with the .hex file provided.
What error did you get?
-
I'm using
Microsoft Windows XP Professional
Version 2002
Service Pack 2
I have no idea what the error is. It just crashes and the program dies. I will attach the error report it generated
I get the feeling it dies when trying to initialise because when I ignore the error and move the sliders, the status light on the Axon does not flash.

Do you have RoboRealm connecting to the USB when you try to program with the bootloader? Are you sure you are connecting to the correct com port? Check your battery voltage, it could be low.
Also, try restarting your PC.
(basic problem solving steps first :P)

Yep basic problem solving steps have been executed :)
1/ battery voltage ok
2/ uploading other programs fine
So I have tried to start the RR software with the Axon both on and off but still nothing. Just crashes.

I don't know what this means... I can successfully upload the "Servo_Controller.hex" file to the Axon. Is that what you mean?
Does RR have another way of connecting to the Axon other than USB?

I'm confused, were you able to upload the .hex or not? :P

Sorry, what I meant was that in the beginning I was having problems. I was getting the "connection (one wire)" problem, but that seems to have resolved itself somehow.
I can now program the Axon with the Servo_Control.hex file, but the RoboRealm software still crashes.
I think I might also try RoboRealm on another computer when I can get my hands on one..
-
Oh! The whole time you had me thinking the Axon bootloader was crashing on you.
If its RoboRealm, put up a post on the RoboRealm forum mentioning the problem.

Whoops... sorry about that.
Has anyone other than Admin been able to successfully use the RoboRealm Software with their Axon?

I am currently working on a project with the servo_controller.hex loaded on my AXON and controlling it with RoboRealm.
I run RoboRealm on a small ACER net book (xp home) and use usb camera (Logitec) to track a red box and the AXON to pan the camera mounted on a servo. this is just a start and soon the little net book will have a chassis. all the software seems to work well and it responds to VNC very well also.
