Title: Schema to check
Post by: Klon on April 30, 2009, 02:52:10 AM
Hi again
This is my first schema ever, so please help me and point mistakes. it's for an assignment, I don't know much about how to design hardware. Please, dont be very cruel for a noob, I'm still not sure how this stuff works ;) I would be grateful for any advises or links.

What I need to do in this assignment is to build a device with 3-axis gyro (in this case, one single and one double axis) and a 3axis accelerometer. It will be used on a model aircraft, to research the forces occurring on the plane. It will store data on flash memory, and. well.. that's it ;)

Hi,

Cannot check the schematic, since it's not readable.

Did you draw this in paint??

You should really learn to use Eagle for making schematics -http://www.cadsoft.de/.

That said... its an impressive schematic if it's from paint. Must have taken a while!

that's the link to full res.

yea, i made it in paint, im using my uni's pc and can't install any external apps :/
;)

ok, as i don't know much about electronics, this is a description of two tiny issues of my schema

5 pins from 3axis accelerometer connect to microcontroller- one each for x,y,z axis, one to set it to sleep mode when required and one to GS2 pin (it sets acc. for 6g sensitivity, GS1 is for 3g) - only GS2 is connected, can it stay this way or do I have to connect both GS1 and GS2?
I connected 2axis gyro and flash to RB pins, but accelerometer and 1axis gyro to RA pins. I suppose that it might be wrong, but I don't know if there is a difference between these pins and I cant find the answer in the datasheet.

damn, i wish i had more time to read more, but they give us far too many assignments at once :[

edit/ aaight, i discovered that i need to connect PD pin to gyro as well to be able to set it into power-down mode.

and another issue - i cant find any information about power consumption of gyros, has anyone got any idea? :/

Hi,

and another issue - i cant find any information about power consumption of gyros, has anyone got any idea? :/
The pages you linked to contains the datasheets where such info is!
LISY300AL = 4.8mA (typ.).
IDG-300 = 9.5mA (max.) quiescent.
