Title: Adaptive Mapping and Navigation with iRobot Create
Post by: armsteadj1 on May 07, 2009, 08:23:32 AM
I am currently trying to finish up my independent study of robots using IR for wall detection.. I have been trying to us the instructions from http://www.instructables.com/id/Adaptive-Mapping-and-Navigation-with-iRobot-Create/ (http://www.instructables.com/id/Adaptive-Mapping-and-Navigation-with-iRobot-Create/) but have run into a couple problems..

I have loaded the code but (with the servo only) It sits there and spins.. it will spin the servo a small amount, maybe 90 degrees, then stop and then rotate the robot forever.. I am guessing it is for some reaons not talking correctly to the servo?

Then when I plug in the IR the application wont even load. I hit the reset button and the power button blinks.. unplug the IR and it loads the app and does the above..

Do you have any suggestions to what I am doing wrong? I am in a sort of time crunch but I really have no idea what is wrong =(.. any help is greatly appreciated.

Thank you!

Ever get it to work?

Sounds like:
- wiring possibly wrong
- you are using the Stampy code and not wavefront code
- battery possibly low
