Title: I need some help with an LCD I got.
Post by: galannthegreat on June 02, 2009, 12:06:24 PM
My friend came over last night with a bunch of electronic goodies and I saw this LCD he had, so he gave it to me. But, the trouble starts when I try to find a datasheet with the controller used. I'm guessing it is a generic type of controller, but it doesn't hurt to be safe.

The part number is:
PC-16021C7 and MC1602CCP9-SYML

So if anyone knows if it would be safe to use like the normal generic controllers and command set, please let me know.

Thanks, Kurt.

can you post a picture of it?  Also I think if the lcd has a standard pin out then the internal hardware probably isn't an issue.  There should be vss, vdd, vo, rs, wr, e, d7-0, and an led+ and minus if there is a backlight.  These may or may not be labeled.
