Actually...It's really intimidating :D
-
Youtube for "Supersoaker flame thrower" I found a very similar thing except it was a supersoaker taped to a RC car to burn stuff, they brought it over to manually pump it up but then drove it away to light it in case it exploded!
-
This is actually about a year old, the video at least. Really cool nevertheless. :)

Cute little flame throwing brave little toaster . . .
The Brave Little Toaster (Battlebot) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=miT7hYPLaVs#lq-lq2-hq)

awe man, poor little toaster...it was much cooler than the other robot! ...alas, its days ended when it decided to light its self on fire :D How would you like your toast: regular or burnt-to-a-crispt toasted?
-
ha, nice toaster... flame throwers aren't too effective against robots are they?
-
It would ultimately depend on how hot you can get the other robots microcontroller, and how protected the other robot it right?
-
well yes, but most decent battle bots don't have their mcu's dragging behind them...
-
don't jump to any conlusions, i versed one once and the mcu was mounted on the inside of the front plate and when he got rammed he was down for the count ;D
-
you versed in battlebots!?!
howcome we never heard about this?
-
only once, and it was only a local schools comp
i helped my friend with the mecanics and putting the chassi of the robot together and i went and was the pit crew when it got smashed up
but as it was so expensive for my friend i have not gone since, and my friend moved to melborne as he is studying electrotechnical enginering and draughting i think it was at melborne uni
i never got to drive it

ahh ok, so there are some people interested in things similar to robotics in australia ;D
