so i thought this was pretty cool

what applications can you think of for the real world?

possibly search and rescue in the future... these things could fit through rather small spots the when in an open area spread out to get a broader look then go back into formation etc. now one thing that would have to change is the fact that there detecting some sort of light off the child... I'm not to sure what type im on dial up and the picture was kind of fuzzy.... im interested in how they communicated though it appeared as if the lights had some effect wre the kept changing.... give it 10 years robots can detect heat good enough to know its a person... then thios could have a lot of ability.
I saw on tv were the army was developing similar things but small enough to fit under doors. so I'm not sure I would like to get my self a group of four of these working but the group that built these seems to be keeping the information private.... one more thing imagine something like these but they all can manage to do different tasks and then the small tasks performed becomes something big...
wow yeah I could run on about these all night... a cool thing would be to see ground operation like these but then have small UAVs in the air and they have the ability to communicate

that's really cool how the robots work together. i wonder how they communicate with one another, or, if they're being controlled by a computer elsewhere.
on a side note, the look on that girls face is priceless "oh god, oh god, i'm being kidnapped by robots...."

I think ther autonomous.... Like I said it almost appears as if the lights have some affect on how they act... I cant be too sure because the people seem to not want to give many details of how they work..... I've seen something similar with ir before but im not sure if its being used here

Yeah i remember that too. after asking a friend of mine in the marines, he said they were developing them as a mobil mine feild that would change its position, every once in a awhile so no one could map it or if one went off they all moved around or something.

mine in a robot is a cool idea .and the job the swarm bots did is just awesome

it wod have been cooler if the went single file then wqent to that fromation though imo
