But, I am wondering what is the operating voltage of this detector.
Could you tell me which specification do I have to see to check out the operating voltage?
I am also looking at the spectral sensitivity of this detector.
I am wondering whether the spectral sensitivity is higher, it means it is more sensitive to visible lights.

is there any reason why you are using a photodiode and not a photo transistor?

Hi, James.
Yes, this topic is related with the motor control topic I posted earlier.
Actually, I never used any ir sensors or photo dectors before.
This is the first time, so I am trying to use both diodes and transistors for my learning experience.
There is no special reason for me to use both of them.
I just hope that I could use them as a switch. Detector as a switch and emitter as a trigger element. :)

I just contacted the supplier of the detectors.
He said the operating voltage is 0.4VDC and operating current is 8~15uA.

yes, there is a .4v drop across the diode.
i am not sure whether it can be used as a switch as i have never used photo diodes before but im
sure google will be able to turn up some results ;)
