Title: polymorphic blob robot by iRobot

Two years ago DARPA asked for proposals on a robot that was essentially The Blob for the ChemBot program. They wanted a robot that change volume by a factor of 10, and fit under doorways ("one centimeter height").

My team submitted a proposal, but we lost out to iRobot. What I can't figure out from the video, however, is how they planned to make it autonomous . . .

Creepy... Although it is actually quite amazing to see the technology science has brought these days...

It actually makes a lot of sense how it works. Doesn't seem to hard to DIY.

What kind of flexible plastic did they use?
