Title: Newbie Camera question
Post by: Digisynth on October 15, 2009, 11:52:41 AM
My idea is to build a robot with a camera. I am building a robot with the microcontroller of the 50$ one. I am a complete newbie to this, so my question is how does one actually draw an image on the computer screen of the input from the camera?

So, you want the robot to act on what it sees, or just send it to a pc screen?
Two very different things...
If the first option, take a look at http://www.societyofrobots.com/robot_ERP.shtml (http://www.societyofrobots.com/robot_ERP.shtml)
Its earlier stages used the $50 board with a camera.
If you just want it displayed on a screen then just get a wireless camera.

Consider yourself lucky that this was just released for the Blackfin:

CMUcam also does output straight to your PC.
