Title: New Robot Motor Help
Post by: offy on October 25, 2009, 07:12:24 AM
So my new project requires motors to drive 50 pounds. I have been thinking of wheel chair motors, but they seem over kill, since they are for around 200+ pounds. Any ideas? Also I do not want to build any gear boxes. I would like to have a kit with motors, gear box, and wheel, but it is not needed.

Specs:
50 pounds
2 feet a second (can be less)

Thanks in advance. And yes I did go to the motor calculator but my problem is finding a motor now.

Hi,

Did you look for automotive windshield wipers?

do you have a price limit, and if not you could find some battlebot motors. http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/motors_main.html (http://www.robotmarketplace.com/products/motors_main.html)
may be kinda pricey, but you might find something good

Here are the motors I'm using for a university project, they perform quite well as they are for a 120lb. toolchest that we are making R/C, then maybe later on autonomous.

Thanks. I was looking at these but wasn't sure if any good. I am getting a little lower rpm and torque so I save some cash. Thanks.
