Title: 'New replies' - going missing
Post by: Webbot on October 31, 2009, 05:03:30 PM
I've noticed that I sometimes receive responses (via email) to Forum Threads that I have contributed to but when I go into SoR and click 'Show new replies to your posts' then nothing appears.

Are any other regular contributors aware of this problem?

I'm wondering/guessing whether it is to do with your timezone and whether this info, from your browser, is used by the forum code. For example: if someone who is +2 hrs from my timezone makes a post then I get the email immediately - but 'Show new replies to your posts' hides it for 2 hours. Am not sure - just a guess.

But stuff definitely goes AWOL.

I have noticed this as well. I am far from the contributor you are (someday I might get there  ;) ) but it caught my attention rather quickly. I assumed it was just unique to me so I didn't say anything. Didn't Admin update the forum framework relatively recently?

Thats me deleting spam and horribly off-topic/wasteful posts before you have time to see it :P

I'll keep an eye on it - as I'm not convinced thats the case.

ie someone replies, I get an email, go to SoR, click 'New Replies to your posts' => nothing. But if I hunt for the thread then the new answer is there.

ie I can find the answer if I look for it manually - so I guess you've not deleted it.

Will let you know if it happens again.

ok

Also, if the email says the user name of the person who replied, include that too.
