Post by: blackbeard on November 03, 2009, 07:14:20 PM
i made an and or inverter circuit :P. it's really cool these things! it's super tough to work with though but it's pretty fun. i'm using an altera de1 with cyclone 2

Good!

After your post looked at the kind of stuff I was doing a few years ago at the university and I was so eager to play again with a FPGA that I bought one of eBay (the same as yours) :D
It should be here in a few days!

Chelmi.

it's really fun stuff! i imagine you'll love it! you probably want to run a microcontroller along side it for some extended functionality though

you can instantiate a soft core on it if you want. Apparently you can even run Linux on it :)

I've been playing with a Xilinx Spartan 3 at uni, its a bit hard to get your head around FPGA's initially but when you do you can do some cool stuff! Do you use VHDL or something more C based for the Altera?
