Title: modify the servo motor and programmer

 i am not getting the servo motor mention here. if i bye another servo motor  do i need to reprogram it.

can i use any other programmer other than the mentioned programmer

Most other hobby servos will work with the $50 robot.
Just make sure the voltage is at least 6v.
As for the programmer, as long as it is compatible with the atmega8 it will work.
If you are unsure post a link here and someone will verify it for you.

Uhh, depending on the programmer. With some it will, with others it wont.
The programmers web page should say which programs it is compatible with.
Most will work with either avrstudio, avrdude or ponyprong.

The servo wont turn fully, servos only have 180 degrees of rotation, when you modify it you make it so it can turn 360.

You can buy continuous servo but it will be more expensive and from own experience its worth buying 180 servo and modifying it for 360 . Its cheaper and it has more torque !
