looking for thin wheel

I am looking for a wheel with these below specs, but haven't had any luck:

less than 1" thick, prefer .5" or less

diameter more than 3.5", prefer 4" to 5"

high friction rim -> rubber, treading, etc

something like this, but with a greater diameter:

two or three CD's on top of eachother, then glue a wide rubberband around it.
The big holes in the middle might be a problem. I guess making a hub will be neccesairy.

exactly what i was going to say. i did that on my $50 robot

heres a pic. centering them was hard, but it's doable. i used the big servo horn as a hub. and used screws similar to the ones in the middle of the hub/horn

yea the only problem i have with cds is they dont have very much friction. and even with a rubber band. and admin is the diamiter including the tire?

I'm looking for something less ghetto . . .

If I get desperate, I'll CNC some wheels and attach a rubber band around it . . . but was hoping for something already out there . . .

have you looked around stores near you? i usially buy a small toy car for $3-6 and get the wheels off it.

if it's painted noone will see it.  and 5 layer 3/8" cd wheels are rock solid

I decided to CAD up a wheel design for CNC, just to see what it'll look like.

The weight is 1/3rd of what a foam wheel would be, and like 1/10th the weight of CD's, so I think I'll stay with my custom wheel design.

It will be on my latest robot . . .

no well not just robots....in my metal work class we sometimes do model cars for fun and race them ;) we do all kinds of stuff (lol my teacher is crazy)
